Set up notifications for your listings and orders

Set up listing and order alerts, review notifications, and add email or webhook delivery.

Written by Patrick Widdoss

Use Notifications to follow changes that need your attention, such as listings entering a slow-selling inventory view or new and cancelled orders. Your alerts appear in a dedicated inbox. You can also add email or webhook delivery to individual subscriptions.

Notifications must be enabled for your account before you can access these controls.

What can I follow with Notifications?

You can follow listings entering or leaving a saved custom view, new orders, and cancelled orders. A saved view defines the group of listings you want to follow.

Entered means a listing starts matching the view's filters. Exited means a listing stops matching those filters. For example, you can follow listings entering a view for items that have not sold in more than 30 days.

How do I set up alerts for a saved view?

  1. Create a custom view on the Listings page, or choose one you have already saved. For help, read how to create and save a custom view.

  2. Open Configure > Notifications.

  3. Under Subscriptions, expand Saved Views.

  4. Under Entered or Exited, use + Add Saved View to select the view you want to follow. Add the view under both groups if you want alerts for both changes.

  5. Expand Show subscriptions to review the subscriptions for that group. Check that the subscription is On.

Saving a custom view and subscribing to its notifications are separate steps. A saved view by itself gives you a list to review; it does not enable alerts.

How can I follow slow-selling inventory?

Create a custom view using Date of Last Sale (Days Ago) with greater than and a value such as 30. Save the view, then add it under Entered in your notification settings to follow listings joining that group.

A listing with no recorded sale has an unset last-sale date. Use a separate view with not set if you also want to follow listings with no recorded sale.

Saved-view notifications follow changes in view membership. They are not a daily reminder for every listing that remains in a view.

How do I follow new or cancelled orders?

Open Configure > Notifications. Under Subscriptions, expand Orders. Use Track New or Track Cancelled to start following the order event you want.

Order subscriptions are grouped under New and Cancelled. Use the saved-view selector under Applies to to follow orders for a group of listings.

To choose retail orders, business orders, or both, expand the subscription list and click the pencil icon beside the subscription. Choose the Order Type options you want, then click Save. At least one order type must be selected.

Where do I find my notifications?

Open Notifications > Inbox to see your notification inbox. Use Unread, the subscription filters, or Search notifications to find the alerts you want to review.

You can mark alerts as read, flag them for follow-up, or archive them. Archived alerts are available under Archived.

How do I review a daily summary?

Open Notifications > Overview to review a daily summary of your notifications and its breakdown by notification type. Use Previous or the earlier summaries listed under While you were away to review another summary.

Open a notification listed in a summary to view it in your notification inbox.

How do I also receive alerts by email?

  1. Open Configure > Notifications.

  2. Under Delivery Channels, click + Add Channel, choose Email, enter your email address, and click Add.

  3. Expand the relevant subscription list and click the pencil icon beside the subscription you want to update.

  4. Under Additional Delivery Channels, use + Add Channel to select the email channel, then click Save.

Email is an additional delivery channel. Your notifications also appear in the notification inbox.

How do I receive notifications through a webhook?

You can send notifications to your application through a verified webhook. Follow set up and receive notification webhooks to add and verify the delivery channel, then select the webhook for the subscriptions you want to receive.

How do I change or turn off a subscription?

Open Configure > Notifications, expand the relevant event group, and select Show subscriptions. Click the pencil icon to edit a subscription, then click Save. To stop alerts from that subscription, switch it from On to Off.

Does a notification change my price or strategy?

A notification subscription controls the alerts you receive. Use Strategy Automation when you want to assign a strategy to listings that match a saved view.
