What this setting does
When Amazon suppresses the Buy Box on a listing, there is no Buy Box offer to compete against. The When the Buy Box is suppressed setting controls how your strategy reprices until the Buy Box returns.
This setting applies to strategies that compete directly against the Buy Box: Get the Buy Box, or a Build Your Own strategy with Buy Box competition.
Your options
Continue repricing (default): Informed keeps repricing your listing, lowering your price in small steps at regular intervals. Buy Box suppression is often caused by prices that are too high, so gradually lowering your price can help restore the Buy Box. Your price never goes below your minimum price.
Do not reprice: Your price stays where it is until the Buy Box returns.
Use Min Price: Your price moves to your minimum price until the Buy Box returns.
Use Max Price: Your price moves to your maximum price until the Buy Box returns.
Compete with the lowest featured merchant: Instead of pausing or moving to a fixed price, your strategy competes against the lowest featured merchant offer on the listing until the Buy Box returns.
A suppressed Buy Box is not the same as having no competition. When the Buy Box is suppressed, this setting applies, not your "when there is no competition" setting.
What is a suppressed Buy Box?
A suppressed Buy Box is when Amazon removes the Buy Box from a listing entirely. Instead of an "Add to Cart" button, shoppers see "See All Buying Options."
Amazon does not publish exact criteria, but the two most common causes are:
All offer prices are above MSRP (manufacturer's suggested retail price).
There are no Buy Box eligible offers on the listing.
How do I see which items have a suppressed Buy Box?
You can identify items that have a suppressed Buy Box by filtering on the Listings Page. If you filter by Buy Box Status > Buy Box Suppressed, you will see all items with a suppressed Buy Box.
The following is a direct link to the filtered page for your convenience: Listings with a suppressed Buy Box
