How to add product costs in Informed Repricer

Add product costs, additional expenses, and cost currency in Informed Repricer. Update individual SKUs or use a spreadsheet for bulk changes.

Add your product costs so Informed Repricer can calculate profit and use cost-based minimum and maximum prices.

Before you add costs

Use Cost for the amount you paid for one unit. Use Additional Cost for separate per-unit expenses, such as inbound shipping, labeling, or prep fees. Both values contribute to your total cost.

For example, if a unit costs $6.00 and preparation costs $1.00, enter $6.00 in Cost and $1.00 in Additional Cost. If that $1.00 is already included in Cost, do not enter it again.

Choose the Cost Currency that matches what you paid, even if you sell in another currency.

Costs are shared across listings with the same SKU. Changing the cost, additional cost, or cost currency for one SKU also affects that SKU on your other marketplaces.

Add costs to one SKU

  1. Open Listings and search for your SKU.

  2. Click the pencil icon in the Actions column to open the listing's Edit tab.

  3. Enter the per-unit Cost and any Additional Cost, then select the correct Cost Currency.

  4. Click Save.

Open the listing again to check the saved values. For an Amazon listing, the Profit Calculator tab shows how costs and fees contribute to estimated profit.

Add costs using a spreadsheet

Use a spreadsheet when different SKUs need different cost values.

  1. Open Uploads.

  2. Open Download a Template and choose Set or Update Cost. All Available Fields is another option if you also need to update other listing information.

  3. Keep the template headers. Enter each SKU, COST, and CURRENCY, using a currency code such as USD, EUR, or GBP.

  4. Save your file as a CSV or tab-delimited TXT file, then upload it from Uploads.

  5. Check the upload result and review the updated values on Listings.

A cost-only upload does not require MARKETPLACE_ID, because costs belong to the SKU. Use a decimal point for amounts, such as 12.50. See Upload templates for other fields and requirements.

Other ways to update costs

You can select listings using the checkboxes on Listings and choose Edit Cost. Check the selected listings before applying a shared value.

Some integrations can send costs automatically. Open Integrations and check the documentation for your provider before relying on it to manage costs.

Should I include Amazon fees in my product cost?

Do not add fees that Informed Repricer already includes in the calculation. For an Amazon listing, check the Fees section of Profit Calculator to see the fees being used. Entering the same expense again in Cost or Additional Cost would count it twice.

Can I enter Additional Cost without a base Cost?

Enter a base Cost as well. Additional Cost does not replace the product cost. If a SKU has no Cost and you upload only Additional Cost, the additional value is ignored.

Do I need costs for repricing?

Costs are not required for every repricing setup. They are needed for profit calculations and cost-based pricing methods, including profit-based and ROI-based minimum and maximum prices.

A custom formula needs a cost when the formula uses cost as an input. Formula-based pricing does not automatically account for marketplace or FBA fees.

Can the same SKU have a different cost in each marketplace?

No. The same SKU shares its cost, additional cost, and cost currency across marketplaces in your account. Keep the cost in the currency you paid; Informed Repricer converts it when needed for profit and profit/ROI-based price calculations.
